First, let me welcome you to Comp & Lit I. I'm looking forward to getting to know each of you this semester.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Melinda Roberts; I'll be your professor for this class. I'm a fourth generation Californian, born in Martinez, near Berkeley, in Northern California. I've been teaching at WCC since 2007; I taught in California for 10 years before moving to New York in 2005. I have a BA in English and Comparative Literatures and a minor in Sociology; I have my Master's Degree in TESOL. In five years I expect to be pretty much in the same place, although I would like to be living in a more rural area than where I am now. I enjoy anything related to the arts (music, literature, theatre, movies). I also enjoy traveling -- have visited many countries outside the United States, but have decided that, at the end of the day, there really is "no place like home." My hobbies are needlepoint and knitting, photography, visiting historical sites, and taking care of my four-legged "kids" - Clarence Sebastian and Maxwell (the kitties), and Maxine (70 pounds of lean, mean canine).
My name is Nicholas Basciano and i live in Harrison NY. I was born in the Bronx but i had lived there for only a short time before moving to Harrison. This is my first semester at WCC and my major is Liberal Arts/Humanities. In five years i see myself involved in athletic training, considering it is both what i enjoy doing and what i am best at. My hobbys are hanging out with my boys, listening to music, djing and mixing music, soccer, basketball, football, weightlifting and holding it down. If i had to say something about myself that has interested people in the past it would be that i am colorblind. I mix up Green for Orange, thefore the grass is orange to me, yes pretty cool, Blue and Purple and Red and Pink. Like this one time i thought i wore a sharp red shirt to school only to find out from everyones criticism, even teachers, that it was pink. Its ok eveyone has to find out the hard way every once in a while.
ReplyDeleteHey all. My name is Michael Padro (yes you can find me on facebook haha).I was born and raised in the bronx till I was 15 when I also (as Nick did) moved to Harrison. This is my fourth semester at Westchester as a Business Admin major.I am not exactly sure where i would find myself in five years, but where ever I am I know it will be somewhere good. I enjoy listening to various kinds of music, although my favorite artist is and will always be DAFT PUNK I am pretty open to what people show me. I enjoy hosting events such a dinners and such cause nothing makes me feel better than seeing people having a good time. Being around family is very important to me, i guess you can say I'm a very family oriented person... Being a family oriented person i also know what it is like to lose an important person part of your family, before moving to harrison i lost my grandmother who to me was everything. Having to deal with this was a very hard thing to do. So in turn now that i am older I now volunteer at a camp for grieving children at a place called Comfort Zone Camp ( you can check out there website at www.comfortzonecamp.org) here i am able to be with children who went threw what i had to endure when i was there age and help them cope with it knowing what it was like to be a alone. i truly love that place and i must say it is my favorite place in the world!! On a brighter note i love to play frisbee and i have a twin brother who also goes to Westchester!! I am also in a Fraternity called Gamma Sigma Zeta which is a big part of my life.... haha i never blogged before this is pretty cool i'd write more, but i don't want to bore you all see ya in class!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Ana Luisa Crivorot. I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I am in my second semester at WCC and my major is Liberal Arts/Social Sciences. In five years I see myself having completed a BA in a behavioral or social science, probably in psychology or political science. I hope to be working in an international organization that helps people in need in other countries. I like to read, go to the movies, visit museums, and travel. I enjoy skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, surfing and biking. I also love playing with and taking care of animals, especially dogs. Something interesting about me would be that growing up I lived in Brazil, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Singapore.

I was born in Peru and move here to the United States when i was 10 years old.this is my second semester at wcc and i like it because time flies. i cant believe that i already finished my first semester and now i am starting my second semester.i am shooting to become an electric engineer. in five years i see my self working for the large electric companies and making that money to bring my mother and brother from Peru. my interest are cars and talking about cars i am lookig for a used black grey or red 2002 honda civic 5 speed with miles les than 100,000 if anybody is seeling a car like this let me know. sorry back to the topic , my hobbies are listening to music, racing, chilling wit my friends and most of all i like sleeping wich i dont do much.i guess my talent is drawing while listening to music. something interesting? my cousins think i have many live like cats because i have gone through accidents that could of lef me extremely hurt or dead but nothing yet,and just a couple weeks ago i got into a car accident in the highway and my car was destroyed but i didnt even have a scratch on me. i think its luck i dont know but thats what my cousins think that is interesting about me.
ReplyDeleteHi everyone, my name is Anna Powell. I was born and raised in Poland. I came here a few years ago and this is my second semester at WCC. In Poland, I graduated from the Building Engineering School, but recently I realized that if I’m going to spend the rest of my life working I might as well enjoy it, and that is why I’m here studying Fashion Merchandising. In five years I see myself graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology and working for Marc Jacobs. My interests include fashion, politics, and recently I fell in love with football. My favorite player is Arizona’s wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald.
ReplyDeleteHi everyone my name is Maddalen Gonzalez but everyone usually calls me Maddy.I was born in Bronxville but I've lived in the Bronx my whole life. This is my second semester here at W.C.C., Im hoping to get into the Radiology program. In five years i see my self with my desired job as a radiology tech , living in a nice appartment in either new york or florida driving a really nice car. I like to listen to music, i like going to the movies or out with friends and depending on the book i like to read .I also like to just have fun. Something interesting about me would probably be that I'm very energic usually thinking positive and Im addicted to my cell phone.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Diana Munoz I was born in Mt. Kisco and lived there for the first five years of my life. Then I moved to White Plains and lived here since then. This is my first semester at WCC and I will be here for four semesters and I hope to graduate with my Associates Degree. My major is Criminal Justice and I hope to get my Bachelors from John Jay. In five years I see myself working, paying bills and being in my third year at John Jay. My interests are basketball, soccer, volleyball, dancing, and watching tv. I also enjoy going out with my friends, going to the movies, going to parties, and going shopping. Well I hope I find new friends in this class and I hope to enjoy your class this semester.

In five years I expect to have my B.A. in health and wellness promotion from Sunny Cortland. I play soccer and I like football, rugby and other sports. I would like to graduate with Associate degree in arts and then transfer on 4 year college.My major is visual arts and I would like to focus my studies on digital design and photography. ReplyDeleteHi my name is Heidy Lopez, I was born in Tocaima Cundinamarca (which is a small town located in the outsides of Bogota), and I was raised in Medellin Colombia until i was 7. When I turned 7 my mother, my younger sister and me joined my father here in the United States. This is my second semester in wcc, and i am majoring in early childhood education (but i am also interested in early childhood psychology). In 5 years i plan to have a job as an educator and have my own apartment in the city. I love sports, I play soccer and I been swiming all my life. Something interesting about me is that I am only 18 and I couch my own swim team.

This is my second semester at WCC, and as of now I am majoring in Telecommunications but I am thinking about switching it. I will make my decision after this semester. In 5 years I see myself working, living a stable life and possibly having my own family. One interesting thing about me is that I graduated high school a year early.

I'm majoring in Early childhood education. In 5 years i see myself working hard, living in the city and just focusing on my career and living a good life. A few interesting things about me is that I won 1st place in a dance comepetion out of 600 dancers, and i'm a black belt.

ReplyDeleteHI, My name is Tania Gomez. I was born in Mexico where i grew up in a little town name Tecalitlan. I lived there for 18 years until i came to this country. Now, i'm living in Mamaroneck with my lovely parents, two brothers, and my two cutie maltese. This is my second curse at WCC and My major is International Busines, i really enjoy being at school. I came to this country six years ago, expecting to reach my goals. I'm honest, hardworking, and talented person. I enjoy dancing, listening to music, painting, decoration, anything relate with arts. Next month i'll start to take acting classes in Manhattan. I'm very excited about it. As foreing student is being pretty hard for me to learn English but is not impossible. So, in five more years i see myself working for an important firm in the city, or having my own business. Also i want to get my master degree in business and travel around the world. I like to know new cultures and different ways of living. I want to help poor people from other countries and show them how beutiful this world is when you do things that you enjoy.

Well, my name is Kristian. I was born and raised in Mexico. I came to the United States 5 years ago. This is my second semester at WCC. I'm doing Liberal Arts-Math & Science. But, I'm not really sure what I want to be. There is also in my mind, the possibility to do something else, as to join the US NAVY. I like to travel, explore new things, adventures, that's why I want to do military service. I don't know exactly where I would be in 5 years, but I'm pretty sure that it would be something good whether be a military career or a professional career. My interests are sports, soccer is my passion. I could play many hours without getting bored of it. I enjoy watching TV, especially soccer games. My favorite soccer team is FC Barcelona and Lionel Messi is my favorite soccer player. I also enjoy to listen to music, have fun, go out with my friends and make new friends.

ReplyDeleteOk... my is kwaku boateng. I was born and raise in Ghana. This my second semester at WCC and im studing engineering science. However,i want get master as a chemical engineer in 5 years. My interests include traveling and watch tv. Aslo, i enjoy watching soccer and my favorite team is FC Manchester United or the (RED DEVILS). Unfortunatly we traded one of the best players the world has ever seen to Real Madrid (Christina Ronaldo). Again, l play both long tennis and ping pong and im really good at it. I belief in happiness , joy and life is going to treat you the way you look at it.
My name is Jessica Fajardo. I was born in New Rochelle, but live in Mamaroneck in Westchester. I am taking three classes this semester so I am a part time student. I am currently studying to become a Nurse. I see myself in five years working as a Registered Nurse. I would like to work in a hospital helping others. My interest is to play soccer and rollerblade in skate parks. One thing that is interesting about me is that I am very active and love to do outside activities.

I am majoring in computer science and hope to see myself employed to a computer programming based company. Some of my favorite activities is usually playing games or being outside and playing lacrosse with a couple of friends.

I moved to the United States when I was 9 years old,and I am currently living in the town of Chappaqua(about 10 minutes from White Plains). This is my fourth semester here at WCC,and I am majoring in Business Administration. In five years I see myself with a Bachelors degree in Business, working for a big company,and making a lot of money to be an independent woman, and with time even have my own business to manage, as well as achieving all my life goals. My interests are playing sports such as: soccer, volleyball,reading,watching television,listening to music,dancing,shopping,and hanging out with friends. Something interesting about me is that I love Arabic music and I Belly Dance. I am also into Modeling,and I am a big soccer fan, I enjoy watching the games, and I can't wait until the world cup starts.
